About Lee Ann Donaldson

Lee Ann Donaldson is a trusted advocate for injured individuals and families throughout the Portland metro area. She combines a high level of skill with a personal, holistic approach that helps clients feel supported at every stage- from case initiation through trial.

Before opening Donaldson Law LLC, Lee Ann worked for two personal injury law firms in Portland, helping people through their cases. She has worked in all three branches of Oregon State government, including serving as a law clerk to three presiding judges of Multnomah County Circuit Court and serving as policy advisors for two state senators.

Clients value and respect Lee Ann’s clarity, strategy, and empathy. These values have been shaped through her years of public service and her extensive experience representing her clients in court.

Lee Ann has a long record of leadership in the Oregon legal community, including serving as President of the Oregon State Bar in 2023, and completing her tenure with the OSB Board of Governors in 2024. She is an active member in multiple professional organizations including:

  • Oregon Women Lawyers

  • Multnomah Bar Association

  • American Association for Justice

  • National Police Accountability Project

She has presented educational programs for members of the MBA, OTLA, and NALS of Portland and has served on the MBA Judicial Selection Committee, MBA Court Liaison Committee, OWLS Leadership Committee, OWLS Roberts Diez Committee, among others.

Lee Ann believes in building Oregon’s legal community through mentoring new lawyers and law students. She is a mentor for new lawyers in Oregon through the New Lawyer Mentoring Program since 2020. She also mentors law students at Lewis and Clark and Willamette College of Law, and undergraduate students interested in the legal profession at Portland State University.

Lee Ann Donaldson grew up in Salem, Oregon, graduating from Sprague High School. She then explored the offerings of New York, NY while getting her Bachelors of Arts in American Studies at Barnard College. She then obtained a Masters Degree in Nationalism Studies from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland. Finally, she attended Willamette University College of Law for her juris doctorate.

Outside the practice of law, Lee Ann enjoys reading romance novels, traveling with her family, learning about the birds in her backyard, and making memories with her husband and energetic son.
